Then
It started with Carol Skoufis, a leading force and founder of this iconic Australian brand. She started Bardot in 1996 and has grown it into an Australian fashion icon beyond her wildest dreams. The brand was established with a clear vision: to embody women's empowerment through thoughtfully curated, playful, and bespoke pieces that serve as an extension of our unique personalities.
Now
Today, Bardot employs an intentional and diverse range of female patternmakers, designers, retail managers, garment specialists and merchandisers; a collaboration between top female talent and together they thrive.
While our foundational DNA remains intact, we have embraced our role as a catalyst for change, championing slow fashion and advocating for ethical, sustainable practices. Our commitment then, as it is now, is to design garments that resonate with women who wish to express their individuality through fashion.
Anchored in exceptional craftsmanship and timeless designs that celebrate life's significant moments, Bardot’s fervent dedication to women endures. After 26 remarkable years, we find ourselves more inspired than ever, proudly designing locally with artisans and manufacturers, while eagerly sharing the exquisite Bardot style with the world.
We love women who own their beauty and confidence. This makes dressing them so much more empowering, and Bardot is on a mission to help women feel and look their best, dressed in bold, fierce feminity. Together, we are the strongest force on earth.
A Word from Our Founder and Creative Director “Carol words”
“Design from the heart. I am excited to wake up and design fresh new ideas, and I feel this is my chance to create a vision with no limitations— timeless, high-quality, and thoughtful designs, bringing Bardot closer to where it truly belongs. I woke up one morning and decided to do what I had always envisioned—creating more considered garments that prioritise quality over quantity, reflecting a more thoughtful, conscious approach to fashion. This is my chance to take the brand to a new and next generation of fashion."
